1 860 JUN 1 4 1982 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.63, 2.65, 2."68, 2.72, AND 2.77 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO PURCHASING PROVISIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2.63 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2.63. (a) All materials, equipment, and supplies costing more than ten thousand dollars shall be purchased in the open market on the basis of competitive bidding in accordance with the provisions of this article. (b) Any public work or improvement costing more than ten thousand dollars shall be contracted for in ac- cordance with section 67 of the Charter unless such work or improvement is performed by a department authorized to execute such work improvement

Section 2.77 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 2.77. <br /> All contracts for public works or improvements <br /> costing ten thousand dollars or less, all con- <br /> tracts for personal services for ten thousand <br /> dollars or less, and all purchases of materials, <br /> equipment or supplies of ten thousand dollars <br /> or less may be entered into by the city manager <br /> without written solicitation or advertisement <br /> of public notice therefor, and without observing <br /> the procedures prescribed herein for the awarding <br /> of written contracts. The city manager may, if <br /> necessary funds to provide for the materials, <br /> equipment or supplies required have been approp- <br /> riated, issue and execute purchase orders therefor <br /> specifying the quantity, type and price of mater- <br /> ials, equipment or supplies to be obtained and the <br /> terms and conditions of purchase, performance and <br /> delivery. " <br />SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after <br />its adoption, but in no event shall its provisions be operative <br />until those certain amendments to the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City, approved at the General Municipal Election of <br />April 13, 1982, have been filed with the California Secretary of <br />State. <br /> * * * <br /> 3 <br /> .-.-.... <br />
