SfP 1 3 1982 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1982 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. <br /> --, <br /> applicant's agents, servants, or employees in conducting such operation, <br /> or a certificate evidencing the carrying of appropriate public liability <br /> insurance for the benefit of the applicant and the applicant's agents, <br /> servants and employees as evidence of ability to respond in damages in at <br /> least such amount, said insurance likewise to be approved by the City. <br /> The minimum amounts of coverage of such bond or insurance shall be <br /> $1,000,000 bodily injury liability and/or property damage combined; <br /> provided, howeve r , that the Chief may require greater amounts of coverage <br /> where the circumstances, in the opinion of the Chi ef , involve greater <br /> than ordinary risk to person or property. <br /> '" (e) Applications for temporary fireworks sales permits shall be <br /> made to the Fire Department on or before the 15th day of June of the year <br /> for which application to sell is made. <br /> '" (f) Temporary fireworks sales permits shall not be transferable. <br /> Such permits shall not be renewable, but shall be valid only for the year <br /> in which issued. <br /> '" (g) The Fire Chief shall disapprove the proposed location of any <br /> temporary fireworks sales facility, which, in his opinion, constitutes a <br /> fire hazard; or shall disapprove such location upon the recommendation of <br /> the Chief of Police if, in the opinion of the Chief of Police, such <br /> location will constitute a traffic hazard. <br /> '" (h) In addition to such other requirements or conditions as in <br /> the opi ni on of the Chief are necessary for the prevention of fire or the <br /> protection of life and property, the following provisions shall apply to <br /> all retail operations permitted by temporary fireworks sales permits: <br /> -18- <br /> _....."'--.- ..-.~_.. <br />
