SfP 1 3 1982 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1982 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. <br /> _.~--- u___.__. <br /> " , (1) Fireworks sales facilities shall be located on <br /> property cleared of all combustible materials for a minimum distance of <br /> 25 feet surrounding such facilities. No such facilities shall be located <br /> within 25 feet of any service station; nor within 25 feet of anyone <br /> location where more than four ( 4 ) motor vehicles are stored or parked <br /> adjacent to, or in close proximity to one another. All fireworks sales <br /> facilities shall conform to the requirements of Ordinance No. ll30, as <br /> amended, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Redwood City. <br /> '" (2) All fireworks sales facilities shall meet the building <br /> requirements and electrical requirements applicable thereto of the <br /> provisions of Chapter 9 (as amended) of the Code of the City of Redwood <br /> City. All such facilities in excess of 20 feet in length shall have at <br /> least two (2 ) exits; and each such facility in excess of 40 feet in <br /> length shall have at least three (3 ) exits spaced approximately equal <br /> distance apart; provided, however, that in no case shall the distance <br /> between exits exceed 20 feet. All lighting for such facilities shall be <br /> of a type approved by the Fire Department with regard to fire hazard <br /> requirements. <br /> " , (3) At least one adult person shall be in attendance at all <br /> times while fireworks sales facilities are being stocked, are in <br /> operation, or are being dismantled. No person under the age of l6 years <br /> shall be allowed to sell or dispense fireworks or otherwise work at a <br /> fireworks sales facility. <br /> '" (4) 'No Smoking' signs shall be prominently displayed on all <br /> fireworks sales facilities. <br /> '" (5) All fireworks sales facilities shall be provided with one <br /> fire extinguisher rated no less than 2A-lOBC for each 250 square feet of <br /> floor space or fraction thereof.
