1 871 OR\G\NI\L ORDINANCE ADDING ARTICLE VII TO CHAPTER 32 OF THE REDWOOD CITY CODE ESTABLISHING A UTILITY USERS TAX; PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF, PENALTIES FOR NON-PAYMENT AND DELINQUENCY THEREOF, REMEDIES, AND ENFORCEMENT PERTAINING THERETO THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article VII is hereby added to Chapter 32 of the Code of Redwood City to read as follows: "ARTICLE VII. UTILITY USERS TAX. "Section 32.500. Short Title. At such hearing, <br /> the service supplier may appear and offer evidence why such <br /> specified tax, interest and penalties should not be so fixed. <br /> "After such hearing, the Director shall determine the <br /> amount of the tax, interest, and penalties, if any, to be <br /> remitted, and shall thereafter give written notice to the <br /> service supplier in the manner prescribed above of such <br /> determination and the amount due. The amount determined to be <br /> due shall be payable within fifteen (15) days of the Director's <br /> notice of determination unless an appeal is taken as provided <br /> in this ordinance. <br /> "Section 32.513. Administrative Remedies of the City - <br /> Service User. Whenever the Director determines that a service <br /> user has intentionally withheld the amount of any tax imposed <br /> by the provisions of this Article from the amounts remitted to <br /> a service supplier required to collect the tax, or that a <br /> service user has failed to pay the amount of the tax to such <br /> service supplier for a period of four (4 ) or more billing <br /> periods, or whenever the Director deems it in the interests of <br /> the City, the Director may relieve such service supplier of the <br /> obligation to collect the tax imposed pursuant to the <br /> provisions of this Article from said service user for specified <br /> 12 <br /> ~"·.__.__'·'o.·_M"_~~'_'_œ...._. .__.^_.,..~___,__________." _... .__"__ <br />
