Description
ORiGINAL ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 33 OF, AND ADDING CHAPTER 33 TO, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO TAXICAB REGULATIONS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 33 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Chapter 33 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "CHAPTER 33. TAXICABS "ARTICLE I. DEFINITIONS

A <br />child in arms shall not be counted as a passenger. <br /> "Section 33.21. Each taxicab shall have located in a <br />place in the driver's compartment, and in view of the passengers <br />therein, a copy of the permit to operate issued for such taxicab, <br />and the permit of the driver. <br /> "Section 33.22. Each owner shall provide and maintain <br />a dispatcher to receive calls for service. All requests for <br />service inside the corporate limits shall be answered as soon as <br />practicable; and if the service cannot be rendered within a <br />reasonable time the prospective passenger shall be informed how <br />long it will be before the call can be answered and the reason <br />for the delay. <br /> "Each taxicab shall be equipped with operable <br />transmitters and receivers to provide direct reliable contact <br />with the driver's dispatcher. <br /> "Notice of change of business or dispatch address or of <br />telephone number shall be provided to the City Clerk at least 72 <br />hours before said change is effected. <br /> "Section 33.23. Each owner shall provide taxicab <br />service, including dispatching service, within the city on a 24 <br />hour basis every day of the year. <br /> "Section 33.24.
