Section 5.1 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 5.1. (a) Animal Control Shelter: Those <br /> facilities provided for the impounding of animals. <br /> " (b) Animal Control Officer: That person designated as <br /> the Director of the Division of Animal Control <br /> Services for the County of San Mateo or his duly <br /> authorized officers or deputies, or that person <br /> designated as the Executive Director of the contract <br /> agent of the County of San Mateo or his duly <br /> authorized officers or deputies. <br /> " (c) Attack Trained Dog: A dog which is trained or <br /> being trained to attack on command a person or animal. <br /> " (d) Chief of Animal Control: That person <br /> designated as director of animal control for the city, <br /> and his duly authorized officers. <br /> " (e) Department of Animal Control Services: That <br /> department of the city, or its designated contract <br /> agent, specifically charged with the responsibility of <br /> enforcing the provisions of this chapter and the laws <br /> of the State of California relating to the care, <br /> treatment, control, regulation or impounding of <br /> animals or for the prevention of cruelty thereto. <br /> " (f) Dangerous Animal: Any animal that could create a <br /> danger or that constitutes a menace to the public's <br /> health and safety due to its training or the inherent <br /> nature of the species. Dangerous animals shall <br /> include but not be limited to exotic animals, attack <br /> trained dogs, guard dogs, and any vicious animal as <br /> defined by this chapter. <br /> 1·883 <br /> .- -........- <br />
