JAN 9 1984 ORDINANCE ADDING SECTIONS 12.18.5 AND 12.18.6 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PROVIDING FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE AND MATERIALS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Sec~on 12.18.5 is hereby added to the Code of the " City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Section 79.101 of the fire code is hereby amended to read as ~. follows: Section 79.101. ( a) General. The storage, use, dispensing and mixing of flammable and combustible liquids shall be in accordance with this article, except as otherwise provided in other laws or regulations

Prompt <br /> notice of a law suit to compel disclosure shall be given by <br /> the Fire Department to a permittee or permit applicant. <br /> However, the Fire Department shall be under no duty to prevent <br /> disclosures where there has been any unauthorized discharge of <br /> hazardous materials stored in storage facility(ies) shown on <br /> such map"pr where such disclosure arises out of any official <br /> emergency response relating to the storage facility(ies) . <br /> NEW STORAGE FACILITIES <br /> Sec. 80.l0S. <br /> (a) Monitoring Capability. <br /> All new storage facilities intended for the storage of hazardous <br /> materials which are liquids or solids at standard temperature and pressure <br /> (STP) shall be designed and constructed with a monitoring system capable of <br /> detecting that the hazardous material stored in the primary containment has <br /> entered the secondary containment. , <br /> A monitoring system which has visual capacity is an approved manner of <br /> monitoring. Other means of monitoring may be required by the Fire Prevention <br /> Bureau. The monitoring system shall have the capacity of determining whether <br /> there has been intrusion of water into the secondary containment. <br /> Whenever monitoring devices are provided, they shall, unless otherwise <br /> permitted by the Fire Prevention Bureau be connected to visual and/or audible <br /> alarms. <br /> (b) Containment Requirements <br /> Primary and secondary levels of containment shall be required for all new <br /> storage facilities intended for the storage of hazardous materials which are <br /> liquids or solids at standard temperature and pressure (STP) , unless <br /> specifically herein exempted by the Fire Prevention Bureau. <br /> . <br /> (l6) <br /> <._. _..,-' <br />
