JAN 9 1984 ORDINANCE ADDING SECTIONS 12.18.5 AND 12.18.6 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PROVIDING FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE AND MATERIALS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Sec~on 12.18.5 is hereby added to the Code of the " City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Section 79.101 of the fire code is hereby amended to read as ~. follows: Section 79.101. ( a) General. The storage, use, dispensing and mixing of flammable and combustible liquids shall be in accordance with this article, except as otherwise provided in other laws or regulations

Whenever monitoring devices are ~rovided, they shall, <br /> unless otherwise permitted by the Fire Prevention Bureau, be connec ted to <br /> attention-getting visual and/or audible alarms. <br /> MAINTENANCE, REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF STORAGE FACILITIES <br /> Sec. 80.l09. <br /> (a) The owner of a facility, or the owner of real property, including a <br /> leasehold interest shall carry out maintenance, and minor repair activities of <br /> " <br /> storage facili ties on a' routine basis in a careful and safe manner. No <br /> special permit or other approval shall be required for such maintenance and <br /> repair other than those ordinarily required for the proposed work. <br /> (b) Any substantial modification or repair of a storage facility other <br /> than minor repairs or emergency repairs shall be in accordance with plans to <br /> be submitted to the Fire Prevention Bureau and approved prior to the <br /> ini tiation of such work. <br /> (c) The owner of a facility may make emergency repairs to a storage <br /> facility in advance of seeking approval whenever an immediate repair is <br /> , <br /> required to prevent or contain an unauthorized discharge or to protect the <br /> integrity of the containment. However, within two ( 2) working days after such <br /> emergency repairs have been started, such owner shall seek approval by <br /> submitting drawinqs or other information adequate to describe the repairs to <br /> Fire Prevention Bureau. <br /> (d) Replacement of any storage facility for hazardous materials which <br /> are liquids or solids at standard pressure and temperature (STP) , must be in <br /> accordance with the new installation standards of Section 80.105. <br /> STANDARD CABINETS FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS <br /> Sec. 80.ll0. Cabinets for the storage of hazardous materials shall be of <br /> approved substantialponstruction and of 0.0478-inch steel or a minimum of <br /> l-inch plywood or equivalent which is compatible with the material being <br /> stored. .. <br /> (21) <br /> ,,_.,. ., -"....""" <br />
