MAR ;¿ 4 1986 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1985 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. ~ SECTION 2. Article II (commencing at 12.7) is hereby added to Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows: "ARTICLE II

<br /> DAS : sh 2/6/85 <br />ventilation work has been completed (approved gas tight <br />vaults or tanks are excepted from this requirement) . <br /> "Section 12.17. Whenever the Chief or the Fire Marshal <br />shall disapprove an application or refuse to grant a license <br />or permit applied for under the provisons of this chapter or <br />revoke such license or permit after granting the same or <br />when it is claimed that the provisions of the Fire Code do <br />not apply or that the true intent and meaning of the Code <br />have been misconßtrued or wrongly interpreted, the applicant <br />may appeal to the Council from the decision of the Chief or <br />the Fire Marshal within ten (10 ) days from the date of the <br />decision of the Chief or the Fire MarshaL The decision of <br />the Council on such appeal shall be final. <br /> "Section 12.18. The City Manager, Chief and the Fire <br />Marshal shall act as a committee to determine and specify, <br />after giving affected persons an opportunity to be heard, <br />any new materials, processes or occupancies, which shall <br />require permits, in addition to those now enumerated in the <br />Fire Code. <br /> "Section 12.19. (a) Any person, firm or corporation, <br />whether as principal, agent, employee, or otherwise, who <br />shall violate or cause the violation of any of the <br />provisions of the Fire Code adopted by Section 12.7 and as <br />amended by this Article, or fail to comply with any order, <br />license, or permit made or issued thereunder, or who shall <br />build In violation of any detailed statement of <br />specifications or plans submitted and approved thereunder <br /> 8 <br /> ...---- <br />
