ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 15 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO SMOKING REGULATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Chapter 15 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Chapter 15. Smoking Regulation "Section 15.I. Findings and Purpose. <br /> DES:djk 04/12/88 (#6 ) <br /> I .: djk 05/16/88R <br /> DES:djk 06/06/88R <br />(3 ) A private enclosed office workplace occupied <br /> exclusively by persons who choose to smoke, <br /> notwithstanding that such workplace may be visited <br /> by persons who do not smoke, or choose not to <br /> smoke, excepting places where smoking is <br /> prohibited by other law, ordinance or regulation <br /> or government authority acting pursuant thereto. <br />"Section 15.5. Where Smoking Not Regulated. <br />" (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this <br />Chapter to the contrary, the following areas shall not be <br />subject to the smoking restrictions of this Chapter: <br />(1) Bars; <br />(2 ) Private residences, except when used as a child <br /> care facility, family care home, foster care home, <br /> group home, or a health care facility; <br />(3 ) Hotel and motel rooms rented to guests; <br />(4 ) Retail tobacco stores; <br />(5) Restaurant, hotel and motel conference or meeting <br /> rooms, and public and private assembly rooms while <br /> such places are being used (i) for private <br /> functions, or (ii) by a non-profit entity exempted <br /> from the payment of the bank and corporation tax <br /> by Sections 23701a, 23701b, 23701d, 23701e, <br /> 23701f, 23701g, and 237011 of the California <br /> - <br /> Revenue and Taxation Code, or by a mobile home <br /> park association, or senior citizens organization <br /> for a public function, the receipts from which are <br /> 10 <br /> _....- .,~ <br />
