ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 15 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO SMOKING REGULATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Chapter 15 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Chapter 15. Smoking Regulation "Section 15.I. Findings and Purpose. <br /> DES:djk 04/12/88 (# 6) <br /> I ,:djk 05/l6/88R <br /> DES:djk 06/06/88R <br />(8 ) Public areas of aquariums, libraries, and museums; <br />( 9) Any building not open to the sky which is used <br /> primarily for exhibiting any motion picture, stage <br /> drama, lecture, musical recital or other similar <br /> performance, except when smoking is part of any <br /> such production; provided, however, that this <br /> prohibition does not prevent the designation of a <br /> contiguous area containing a maximum of fifty <br /> percent (50%) of a lobby as a smoking area; <br />(10) Enclosed sports arenas and convention halls, <br /> except in designated separate smoking areas; <br />(11 ) Every room, chamber, and place of meeting or <br /> public assembly, including school buildings under <br /> the control of any board, council, commission, <br /> committee, or agencies of the City or any <br /> political subdivision of the State during such <br /> time as a public meeting is in progress, to the <br /> extent such place is subject to the jurisdiction <br /> of the City; <br />(12 ) Doctors' offices, dentists' offices, waiting <br /> rooms, hallways, wards, and semi-private rooms of <br /> health facilities, including, but not limited to, <br /> hospitals, clinics, and physical therapy <br /> facilities; provided, that in bed-space areas of <br /> any such health facility used for two or more <br /> patients, smoking shall not be prohibited if all <br /> patients within such area have, prior to <br /> 7 <br /> -,~--. ~ <br />
