ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9.2, 9.40, 9.60, 9.70, 9.80, AND 9.110, AND ADDING DIVISION 4 TO ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE AVAILABILITY OF CODES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1988 EDITION, AND THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1987 EDITION, AND ESTABLISHING A SEISMIC HAZARD IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. (b) Extensions. Applications for extensions of time <br />to submit an engineering report made pursuant to (a) (i) <br />above, shall be made in writing to the Building Official who <br />shall respond thereto in writing within ten (10 ) days of <br />receipt of the application. Any owner of an unreinforced <br />masonry building aggrieved by the decision of the Building <br />Official with respect to such application may appeal the <br />decision of the Building Official to the Board of Building <br />Review by filing a written notice of appeal with the <br />Building Official within ten (10) days of the date of the <br />written decision of the Building Official. The Board of <br />Building Review shall hold a hearing on the appeal within <br />thirty (30 ) days of the date of filing of the notice of <br />appeal, provided that the hearing may be held upon such <br />other date as to which the Building Official and the <br />appellant may stipulate. All decisions of the Board of <br />Building Review upon appeal shall be final and conclusive. <br /> "Section 9.146. Letters of Intent. Every owner of an <br />unrein forced masonry building for which an engineering <br />report shall be prepared shall, within ninety (90) days <br />following submittal of such report, submit to the Building <br />Official a letter of intent which shall describe in general <br />fashion the action or actions which said owner intends to <br />take to reduce the hazards to persons and property by reason <br />of earthquake posed by the building or buildings described <br /> 11 <br /> 2004 <br />- - -,,---'_.," -,~...--..-- ~ <br />
