ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 9.2, 9.40, 9.60, 9.70, 9.80, AND 9.110, AND ADDING DIVISION 4 TO ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE AVAILABILITY OF CODES ADOPTED BY REFERENCE, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1988 EDITION, THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1988 EDITION, AND THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1987 EDITION, AND ESTABLISHING A SEISMIC HAZARD IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br /> · DES:d;k 11/07/89 (029/7) <br /> DES:<. ~ 11/13/89R <br />discretion, engage the services of a consulting civil or <br />structural engineer to assist in the evaluation of such <br />documents. <br /> The costs of reviews of such documents by City <br />personnel or consultants, as the case may be, shall be borne <br />by the owner(s) of the unreinforced masonry building or <br />buildings which are the subject of such documents. For <br />purposes of this Section, the Council shall, by resolution, <br />establish a schedule of fees for the recovery of such costs <br />incurred by the City. Said fees shall be payable at the <br />time of submittal of any engineering reports or letters of <br />intent, based upon the applicable hourly rate or rates set <br />forth in the aforementioned schedule of fees times the <br />estimated hours required for such review, as determined by <br />the Building Official. In the event such review requires <br />more time than originally estimated, an additional fee shall <br />be required or, in the event less time is required than that <br />originally estimated, the Building Official shall refund an <br />amount corresponding to the reduction in time, based upon <br />the aforesaid schedule of fees. <br /> Upon submittal for review, all engineering reports and <br />letters of intent shall be deemed public documents.
