I I I t <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council, through the implementation of numerous <br /> programs, supports the efforts of the Redwood City School District to improve <br /> educational standards in the community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Education Committee of the Chamber of Commeme, <br /> together with this Council's City/School Liaison Committee, have proposed a <br /> three-party program for the establishment and enhancement of Redwood City <br /> School District Library/Media Centers; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. This Council does hereby endorse and suppod the Redwood City <br /> School District Library/Media Center Program as set forth in that certain Report <br /> to the Honorable Mayor and City Council submitted on January 22, 1996, on <br /> behalf of the City/School Liaison Committee, including, without limitation, the <br /> proposal to raise and invest funds to establish a modern Library/Media Center at <br /> each of the schools under the jurisdiction of the Redwood City School District <br /> providing a core collection of books and multimedia reseamh materials, <br /> technological support, and automated catalog and circulation systems. <br /> <br /> 2. This Council does hereby declare and state its present intent to <br /> provide funding for a certificated Library/Media Specialist for a three-year period <br /> in an aggregate amount not to exceed $225,000, including employee benefits, <br /> proposed to be employed by the City of Redwood City as a contract employee <br /> <br /> RESO-18 2 <br /> DES:rg <br /> 01/16/96 <br /> <br /> <br />
