Please do not open attachments or click links from an unknown or
suspicious origin. 05xff2i
Dear Redwood City Council Members,
My name is Sharon Refvem. I am the current President of AIA Silicon Valley and contacting you in support of an all -
electric Reach Code.
There are numerous benefits to an all -electric code for new construction relative to carbon reduction, health, safety,
cost, and resilience. In addition, the adoption of an all -electric code recognizes the eventual obsolescence of the gas
infrastructure and its subsequent status as a stranded asset.
Please join Mountain View, Morgan Hill, and other communities in the Bay Area that are approving all -electric Reach
Codes.
Regrettably I am unable to speak before you tonight at the Council Meeting as I have a house full of "fire refugees" who
will be staying until they are (hopefully) able to return to their homes in Santa Rosa. Please feel free to contact me if you
have any questions about the recommendations made here.
Sincerely,
Sharon Refvem, FAIA, LEED Fellow
Sharon Refvem, FAIA, LEED Fellow
AIA Silicon Valley, 2o19 President
Senior Associate / Director, Sustainability Resource Group
HAWLEY PETERSON SNYDER
Architecture Interiors Planning
1237 E.
