As one of the
agencies affected by the Grand Jury Report, the City is required to prepare a response to the findings and
recommendations, consider the response at a public meeting, and submit the response by November 12,
2019.
The Grand Jury Report examines the steps San Mateo County and its cities have taken to reduce their
greenhouse gas emissions by replacing government fleet vehicles with electric vehicles, obstacles to fleet
vehicle replacement, and resources available to assist in converting fleets to zero emissions vehicles
(ZEVs). The Grand Jury Report provides an analysis of obstacles to fleet conversion, including cost,
concludes that government agencies should now focus on converting their fleets to ZEVs, and encourages
cities to begin the process of fleet conversion by performing their own analyses.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
71
