6.D. - Page 18 of 30 <br />purposes of this calculation, it is assumed that the vehicles would be driven 20,000 miles per <br />year and resold after 100,000 miles (five years). <br />This analysis shows that with rebates currently in place, the total life cycle cost over five years <br />for a ZEV is up to $5,000 less than that of a comparable ICE driven car, and that even if the <br />electricity cost were to double or the rebate was not available the total cost would still be less <br />than that of the ICE car. Cities are encouraged to perform their own analyses.
