6.C. - Page 1 of 53 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: November 4, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Purchase of one new, 2020 model year Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessible Van <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement to purchase one new, 2020 <br />model year ADA Accessible Van in the amount of $79,702 from Nation Bus Sales of St. Augustine, Florida. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />Redwood City's Fleet Replacement Program is designed to evaluate vehicles and equipment in order to <br />replace them at the most economically advantageous point in their life cycle. At pre -described intervals, <br />vehicles and equipment undergo a thorough evaluation including but not limited to, age, mileage, <br />condition, maintenance history, downtime, anticipated future repairs, usage, and vehicle capabilities. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department staff currently operates a 2003 ADA accessible <br />van to transport seniors to and from the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. The current vehicle has <br />exceeded its useful life and is now in need of replacement.
