EXHIBIT 'iA" - <br /> <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> HEAD CI~E~F <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To plan, organize and prepare nutritional meals for the Senior Lunch Progream and special events <br />at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center; oversee and maintain health and safety practices in the <br />kitchen and dining room. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Receives direct supervision from Center Manager or the Assistant Center Supervisor. <br /> <br />May exercise technical or functional supervision over the Food Service Assistant and/or <br />volunteers. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br /> <br />1. Prepare food and serve large groups of people, depending on reservations received and type of <br /> lunch or special event. <br /> <br />2. Plan menus that will include: soup or salad, main course, starch, vegetable, and dessert. <br /> <br />3. Tram, schedule and supervise kitchen staff, which includes volunteers and staff. <br /> <br />4. Responsible for ordering food and supplies, inventory, food costing and monthly expeme <br /> reporting. <br /> <br />5. Participate in the planning and organizing of special events that pertam to food service. Some <br /> of the planning would include: decorations, shopping, set-up, cooking, and dean-up. <br /> <br />6. Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in the kitchen and dining room at all times. <br /> <br />7. Perform work with a record of punctuality and regular attemdance. <br /> <br /> OTHER JOB RELATED DUTIES <br /> <br />Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. <br /> <br />JOB RF, LATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br /> Food service procedures. <br /> <br /> Institutional regulations and procedures for assuring a safe environment for all within the Center. <br /> <br /> <br />
