7A <br /> Page 2 <br /> Water Main Upgrade and Fire Sprinkler Requirements- The Board of Building Review and the <br /> City Counal Utilities Commitkee have reviewed the proposed wa#er main upgrade and <br /> companion fire sprinkler requirements, and recommend adoption. The fire sprinkler <br /> requirements are covered in the Fire Code adaption ordinance. The proposed water main <br /> upgrade ordinance and the propvsed fire sprinkier requirements accamplish the fafiawing: <br /> a) clarifies when�re sprinklers and water main upgrades are required; <br /> b) establishes the same threshald (applies to r�ew buildings and new dwelling uni#s, dwelfing <br /> additions of 1,Q00 square feet or more}; <br /> c) coordinates fire sprin�ler, water main upgrade, and water me#er requirements; and <br /> d) confirms that tf�e water main upgrade is a water system requirement, not a city bQUndary <br /> requirement <br /> In accordance with State law and the Gity Charter, the building codes and water main upgrade <br /> orciinances (Attachments 'I and 3) will be published twics in the off'rcial newspaper. The City <br /> Council must also adopt a resolution and the Finding of Facts for the locai amendments <br /> (A#tachment 2}. <br /> A�reRn[n�vEs <br /> 1. Amend the building c,odes or water main upgrade ordinances, basecf upon comments at the <br /> public hearing. <br /> 2.
