7C
Page 61
2. Noise Disfurbance Coordinafor. Designate a noise disturbance coordinator
who wouid be responsible for responding to any local complaints about
construction noise. The dis#urbance coordinator would determine the cause
of the noise complaint(e.g., starting too early, bad muftler, etc.} and institute
reasanable measures warranted to correct the problem. Conspicuously post
a telephone number for the disturbance coordinator at the construction site.
(The Ciiy should be responsible for designating a noise disturbance
coordinator and the project applicant should be responsible for posting the
phone number and providing construction schedule notices).
3. Construction Hours. Restrict noise-generating construction activity to
bstween the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Prohibit
such construction activities n weekends and holidays.
4. Construcfron Barrrer. Construct a perimeter, soiid plywood constructian
barrier, eight feet high, to shieid nearby residentia! land uses fram
canstruction noise. Prohibit site access on common boundaries between the
project site and adjacent residential land uses (e.g., the Villas at Bair island}
during construction phases.
5. Construcfion Equipmenf Mufflers and Mainfenance. Properly muffle and
mainiain all construction equipmnt powered by internal combustion engines.
6. Equipment Location. Locate a!I stationary noise-generating construction
equipment, such as air compressors, as far as practica! from nearby
residences.
7. Truck Routes. Route all canstruction traffic to and from the project site via
designated truck routes where practical. Prohibit construtian-refated heavy
truck traffic in residentiai areas where feasibfe.
8. Quiet Equipment Selection. Utilize quiet construction equipment, particular[y
air compressors, whenever possible.
9. Pile Driving. Utilize multiple pile drivers to expedite this phase of project
construction and reduce the duration of associated impacts.
10. Blanket Barriers. Caver piie drivers with temporary noise-contral b{anket
barriers.
11. Pile Holes. Pre-drilf foundation pile holes to minimize the number of
percussions required to seat the pile.
Findings: Because these measures woufd reduce this impact fo the greates#
extant feasibfe, and because the impact woufd ae in#ermittent and short-term, the mitigation
would reduce the impact to a less-fhan-significant level.
Atty/Reso/Reso.1772 40
121307
