RESOLUTION NO. 19-19 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY DENYING THE APPEAL OF LAUREN RALPH AND <br />UPHOLDING THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR APPROVAL OF <br />ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT NO. AP2019-029 FOR 230 IRIS STREET <br />AND DETERMINING THE PROJECT TO BE EXEMPT FROM CEQA <br />UNDER CEQA GUIDELINES SECTION 15301(e) AND 15303(a) <br />WHEREAS, the applicant, Michael Guerrina (Applicant) has applied for an <br />Architectural Permit to construct a new 667 square foot accessory dwelling unit above a <br />new 658 square foot detached garage (the Project) at 230 Iris Street (the Property); and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 45.3 of the Zoning Ordinance, the Zoning <br />Administrator is authorized to review and approve such Architectural Permits; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 20, 2019, the Zoning Administrator issued a Notice of <br />Official Action for Architectural Permit No. AP2019-029, approving the Project because <br />the required R-1 Zoning District Standards and accessory dwelling unit requirements <br />were met and the Architectural Permit Findings were made; and <br />WHEREAS, on September 4, 2019, an appeal of the Zoning Administrator's <br />decision to approve the Architectural Permit was filed with the City Clerk by Lauren Ralph <br />(Appellant); and <br />WHEREAS, on October 25, 2019, a public hearing notice was published in the <br />San Mateo Daily Journal and mailed to interested parties and all property owners within <br />300 feet of the Property; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 5, 2019, the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Redwood City held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all applicable <br />requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Zoning <br />Ordinance, to consider the appeal; and <br />WHERAS, on November 5, 2019, 2019, the Appellant, the Applicant, and all other <br />interested parties were given the opportunity to participate in the public hearing through <br />oral testimony and the submittal of written comments; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 5, 2019, the Planning Commission fully reviewed, <br />considered, and evaluated the staff report prepared for the Project including the <br />attachments to the staff report, oral and written public testimony, and all other documents <br />and evidence in the public record on the Project and the appeal. <br />ATTY/RESO.0104/PC RESO 230 IRIS STREET <br />REV: 11-06-19 PR <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
