88
Page 7

14. What additional skills should be sought of potential board members? Do we
need more technical expertise or outreach experience in a new board
member? Would fund raising experience be helpful for the ongoing needs of
our libraries such as adopt a book on line and set it up like a bridal registry.

15. Should the terms of office of board members be limited? On the one hand,
there may be need for turn over on our boards and commissions to engender
fresh ideas and new energy. On the other hand, some very qualified people
continue to serve and give substantial value.

16. Please share the. library's current and future plans for the community.

17. What are the links between the future planning of the library and overall city
planning?

18. Do we have a special levy for the maintenance and support of the public
library system as mentioned in the charter?

19. What process exists to include planning for future library services as our
community changes - densification, potential new parks, and schools?

20. Are there opportunities for shared endeavors? (The charter may not hinder
this-but our current approach does not seem to foster joint planning.)

21. Please provide any other information which would be helpful to the city
council.

3
