<br />7A <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Attachment 1 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF <br />CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; <br />AMENDING ARTICLES II, III, AND IX; AND ADDING ARTICLES IV, VI, <br />VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF <br />REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND <br />STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY <br />REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE INTERNATIONAL <br />BUILDING CODE, 2006 EDITION; THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY <br />MAINTENANCE CODE, 2006 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM <br />MECHANICAL CODE, 2006 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING <br />CODE, 2006 EDITION"; "THE INTERNATIONAL CODE COUNCIL <br />ELECTRICAL CODE ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS, 2006 <br />EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 2005 <br />EDITION" <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Articles IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Municipal <br />Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Sections 9.5(A)(12) and 9.15 of Article II of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City <br />Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Sec. 9.5. DEFINITIONS: For purpose of this Article, the following words <br />and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this <br />Section: <br /> <br />12. Whenever any building or structure has been constructed, exists or is <br />maintained in violation of any specific requirement or prohibition applicable to <br />such building or structure provided by the building regulations of this City, as <br />specified in the International Building Code, 2006 Edition, International Property <br />Maintenance Code, 2006 Edition, or of any law or ordinance of this State or City <br />relating to the condition, location or structure of buildings. <br /> <br />Sec. 9.15. EFFECT ON BUILDING CODE: The provisions of this Article shall <br />be construed as an alternative procedure to the procedure for the elimination of unsafe <br />buildings set forth in Section 115 of the Building Code adopted by Section 9.40." <br />(Ord.
