6.D. - Page 3 of 10 <br />Subsistence and travel allowance <br />This section states that City Council travel reimbursements are to be handled in the same manner that <br />staff travel reimbursements are handled. <br />Exceptions <br />This section prescribes how expenditures that do not align with travel reimbursement policies are to be <br />addressed. All expenditures that do not align ought to be approved by the City Council before the expense <br />is incurred. <br />Reporting <br />This section describes how Councilmembers shall provide members of the public and fellow <br />Councilmembers with a brief update on the substance of the event that was attended. These updates, if <br />any, typically are provided during the Matters of Council Interest portion of each regular City Council <br />meeting. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The costs related to Councilmember professional development funds are included in the annual City <br />Council budget.
