6.E. - Page 2 of 97 <br />Freightliner is equivalent in size and capacity to the Ford F750, however, the Freightliner produces greater <br />fuel economy and thus emits less emissions. <br />When conducting market research, staff sought out available alternative fuel vehicle options. However, <br />there were no alternatives available at this time for this specific class of vehicle. Additionally, no <br />aftermarket hybrid retrofit options currently are available. <br />On October 14, 2019 a Notice Inviting Bids (NIB) was released for the "Supply of One New 2020 <br />Freightliner M2 106, 12' Dump Truck." Following the bid closing on November 6, 2019, two bids were <br />received. <br />The received bids are summarized in the table below: <br />Name of Bidder <br />Total <br />Golden Gate Truck Center <br />$143,336 <br />(Oakland, CA) <br />Sacramento Truck Center <br />$144,336 <br />(Sacramento, CA) <br />The recommended action is to award the purchase to Golden Gate Truck Center of Oakland, CA, as they <br />are the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $143,336 are available in the FY 2019-20 Equipment Replacement Fund Budget <br />for the purchase of one new 2020 Freightliner M2 106 12 -foot Dump Truck.
