6.F. - Page 10 of 10 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROPRIATING AND TRANSFERRING CERTAIN FUNDS FOR <br />SPECIFIED PURPOSES DURING FY 2019-20 <br />WHEREAS, during the course of a fiscal year, the City Council may take actions <br />that change or modify the City's existing and approved budgets; and <br />WHEREAS, the Adopted Budget for FY 2019-20 included recommendations for <br />the uses of the General Fund Operating Surplus for FY 2018-19, with the stipulation that <br />the final amount of surplus funds in FY 2018-19 and the use of those funds would be <br />determined after the year-end close and final audit determination; and <br />WHEREAS, the audited financials for FY 2018-19 calculated the amount of surplus <br />funds totaling approximately $17.1 million; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has recommended uses for General Fund Operating Surplus for <br />FY 2018-19, including increasing the staffing in the Community Development and <br />Transportation Department by two full-time positions to provide greater capacity to <br />support planning and development needs; and <br />WHEREAS, an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2019-20 adopted budget is required <br />to accomplish this increase. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The following stated amount, $17.1 million, is hereby appropriated and <br />transferred for specific purposes to conform the budgeted amounts to actual expenditures <br />approved for transactions, which have occurred during Fiscal Year 2019-20. <br />2.
