Periodically, salary ranges for the
various classifications are updated in accordance with approved Memorandums of Understanding or
salary resolutions, and employment agreements with unrepresented employees. When considering
changes to compensation, the City takes into account factors such as the cost -of -living, recruitment and
retention goals, and compensation survey data from comparable Bay Area cities, as well as the current
financial condition of the City, and any anticipated fiscal challenges.
ANALYSIS
The recommended changes to the City's classification and salary plan support compliance with the City's
Minimum Wage Ordinance in the Redwood City Code and establish a salary range for the classification of
City Clerk, which currently is assigned a single step salary.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
318
