Roadway Segment Analysis <br />February 7, 2019 <br />This chapter describes the traffic added to the road network based on the proposed rezoning of the <br />blocks. The results of the road segment level of service analysis and any potential impacts are <br />described. <br />Project Traffic Estimates <br />The rezoning of thirty proposed blocks were grouped into seven different areas based on their proximity <br />to each other. The trip generation is based on the number of maximum additional dwelling units in the <br />grouped areas. <br />Trip Generation <br />The magnitude of traffic added to the roadway system by a development is estimated by applying <br />industry -standard trip generation rates to the type and size of the developments. The standard trip <br />generation rates are published in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) manual entitled Trip <br />Generation, 10th Edition. The rates for Multifamily Housing (Low -Rise) (ITE Land Use Code 220) were <br />used to estimate the number of peak hour trips generated by each block. <br />The trip generation for the seven grouped areas is shown in Table 4. The table shows that the <br />proposed rezoning would generate 208 additional trips in the AM peak hour and 253 additional trips in <br />the PM peak hour. <br />Page 1 7 <br />
