In addition to the items listed above, the City may <br />consider alternative community benefit options that meet the community's visions <br />and goals. These will be evaluated based on community needs and priorities. <br />55.5 Design Regulations. <br />A. Building Orientation and Entrances. <br />1. Nonresidential Entrances. Street -facing primary entrances shall be unlocked and <br />accessible to the public during business hours. Entries shall be clearly defined <br />features of front fagades, and of a scale that is in proportion to the size of the <br />building and number of units being accessed; larger buildings shall have a more <br />prominent building entrance, while maintaining a pedestrian scale. <br />2. Transitional Space at Residential Entries. New residential buildings shall provide <br />transitional spaces in the form of stoops, overhangs, and porches between <br />public areas fronting the primary street and entrances. Building Transparency/Windows and Openings Facing Streets. Placement and <br />orientation of doorways, windows, and landscape elements shall create strong, direct <br />relationships with the street. Street -facing fagades of all buildings shall incorporate <br />windows and openings providing light to adjacent spaces, rooms, and uses. <br />1. Commercial/Industrial Ground -Floor Uses.
