CLK-Pamela Aguilar
From: DONNA CZARNECKI <dczarne@sbcglobal.net>
Sent: Monday, December 16, 2019 4:22 PM
To: Council -Diane Howard
Subject: Please address the East Parking Lot
Dear Mayor Howard,
Today I was reading the Form of Ground Lease between the City and the YMCA. It was hard to find, down deep in
tonight's agenda ... page 520 of 737. 1 was appalled that the City had agreed to give full use of the small East Parking Lot
for use by the YMCA members, families, and invitees and others. This East Parking Lot was supposed to give Seniors a
place to park, close to their building Entrance. Seniors had all their curbside parking taken away as well as the parking to
the South side of their present building and the parking next to the Wellness Center. Now, they have Nothing designated
except those with ADA cards. Why? Forcing Seniors to give up driving.... have you given up driving? This is a horrible
strong arm tactic by Chris Beth and I am asking you to give back the East Parking Lot to the Senior Center. The YMCA
has gotten the Better Deal. Seniors need and want their cars... they don't want to give up driving. That's the last thing you
do in life.
Yes, I posted this issue on Nextdoor and I pray you will help the Seniors keep their close and protected East Parking Lot.
Thank you!
Donna
The Landlord, the city, then transfers the land to the Tenant, YMCA. The Tenant will also have the Use of the "Non -Exclusive
Common Area." This is written in their Lease Form. This takes away the small East Parking Lot that Seniors badly need. It's the
closest place to park to their Senior Center Entrance. Most Seniors carry purses, bags, supplies, and walkers to their APE
classes (Exercise & Wellness) and/or Senior Activities. They carry medical devices and they need curbside, or at least close and
protected daily parking, near their building entrance. Please help get this changed by sending an email NOW before tonight's
meeting:" Mayor Diane Howard at dhoward a,redwoodcitv.ore and to the other members at: Vice Mayor Shelly Masur at
shellvnnasur(aredwoodcitv.ore and Council .redwoodcitv.ore
