A conceptual cost estimate and water demand will be provided, based on experience
with similar site classifications (no detailed quantity takeoffs, etc.)

Task 4 - Preliminary Retrofit Design

Consultant shall prepare a Site data collection priority schedule for City review and approval.
The priority data schedule shall contain Site infonnation to facilitate the final design and
construction of the on-site recycled water infrastructure and identify any modification needed to
be performed in the immediately adjacent public right of way. Upon City's approval of the
priority list and upon written authorization from the City, the Consultant shall, for up to 57
Customer Sites perform the following services. The engineering labor effort for Preliminary
Retrofit Design is estimated to be 28 hours per customer site.

Task 4.1 - Detailed Site Assessment

Perform detailed reconnaissance of customer site, building on prior work by the City for the
BMP5 Program. Investigate setup of existing potable water service and onsite systems to assess
the feasibility of separating potable and non-potable uses. Operation of customer's water system
may be required during this assessment as allowed by the agreement provided by City.

As appropriate for each Customer site, detailed reconnaissance shall consider the following
items:

Site Characteristics
Type of soil, landscape to be irrigated
Area of recycled water use
Potential areas of overspray, ponding or runoff
Presence of drinking fountains and other potable water facilities
Existing backfIow protection on potable water service
Potable and Recycled water service/meter location
Appropriate locations for advisory signs
Surrounding land use or other site restrictions (e.g., wells)
Site drainage and subdrains

Irrigation Facilities
Irrigation system record drawings (if available)

Agreement over $10K
KennedyJenks Rev-2 112603

9
