6.F. - Page 1 of 18 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: January 13, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Update to the Building Safety Inspection Program Mutual Aid Agreement with the County of San Mateo <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Building Safety Inspection Program Mutual <br />Aid Agreement. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Public Safety <br />BACKGROUND <br />The purpose of a mutual aid agreement is to provide an organized means of providing voluntary mutual <br />aid to other County jurisdictions in the event of a disaster. Mutual aid agreements are already in place for <br />Fire, Police and Public Works services (automatic in the case of Police and Fire). <br />ANALYSIS <br />In 2017, the City Council adopted Resolution 15599, authorizing the adoption of a Building Department <br />Mutual Aid Agreement. In 2019, San Mateo County worked with San Mateo County cities and towns to <br />develop an updated Building Safety Inspection Program Mutual Aid Agreement (Agreement).
