7.A. - Page 184 of 285 2019 Nonresidential New Construction Reach Code Cost Effectiveness Study <br />3.1.3 Lighting <br />♦ Interior lighting reduced lighting power density (LPD): Reduce LPD by 15 percent for Medium <br />Office, 10 percent for Medium Retail and by 10 percent for the nonresidential areas of the Small <br />Hotel. <br />♦ Institutional tuning: Limit the maximum output or maximum power draw of lighting to 85 percent <br />of full light output or full power draw. <br />♦ Daylight dimming plus off: Turn daylight -controlled lights completely off when the daylight <br />available in the daylit zone is greater than 150 percent of the illuminance received from the <br />general lighting system at full power. There is no associated cost with this measure, as the 2019 <br />T24 Standards already require multilevel lighting and daylight sensors in primary and secondary <br />daylit spaces. This measure is simply a revised control strategy and does not increase the number <br />of sensors required or labor to install and program a sensor. <br />♦ Occupant sensing in open plan offices: In an open plan office area greater than 250 ftz, control <br />lighting based on occupant sensing controls. Two workstations per occupancy sensor. <br />Details on the applicability and impact of each measure by building type and by space function can be <br />found in Appendices 6.2.
