EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES Consultant shall provide the first phase of architectural and design services to reconfigure the existing computer lab in the Downtown Library into a multi -functional makerspace and coworking space. Consultant will provide one or more conceptual designs for Library staff review, and will provide a full set of construction drawings for the final design selected. Scope of Services The Consultant shall provide the following services and deliverables: • Assist with defining a proposed program of activities to be housed in the new space, with the specific furniture/equipment and space requirements for each • Define a desired "look and feel' through visual images or descriptions of potential materials, colors, furniture, and finishes • Engaging staff and the community in the process through a series of meetings and a facilitated community workshop • Study alternative configurations of the existing space to meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of the makerspace/coworking space, and reconfigure the seating area outside the wall to address customer needs created by the elimination of the existing computer lab • Provide a plan for plentiful storage • Ensure that the space design meets or exceeds ADA requirements to ensure accessibility for everyone in the community, including users of all ages • Provide revisions to the building systems to adequately support the functional needs of the space (power, data, ventilation, lighting, plumbing, acoustical separation, etc.) • Provide one or more conceptual designs for Library staff review • Provide a full set of construction drawings for the final design selected, including specifications for recommended furniture, fixtures, and equipment such as sewing machines, 3D printer, laser cutter, and other items required to provide the desired services • Provide cost estimations for the design, construction, facility improvements, project management, technology, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies for the space. The estimated project cost should not exceed a total of $400,000, inclusive of the architectural and design services provided through this Agreement. • Create a plan for potentially phasing in some of the equipment, should the estimated costs exceed the proposed budget REV: 12-06-19 RL ATTY/AGR.2019.305/ELS Architecture and Urban Design (Page 10 of 12)
