6.C. - Page 3 of 7
a mailing to nearby residents, posts on the City's website and on NextDoor, and email to the
project's stakeholder list.
- Based on community meeting feedback, finalize the permanent installation concept, including an
estimated cost of improvements, or plan for removal of pilot project elements.
- Conduct a community survey to determine support for a permanent installation (yes/no vote).
- Present the final recommendation to the Transportation Advisory Committee.
- Bring the final recommendation to Council for approval and direction on next steps.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for this project was included in the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Engineering Division budget.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
Accepting the project and releasing bonds and retention is not a project under California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting
in either a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. On April 22, 2019,
the Council determined that the project was categorically exempt from the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines per Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) because the project
would involve minor alterations to existing streets in a manner that does not create new vehicle lanes,
and Section 15306 (Information Collection) in that the purpose of the project is to collect data to evaluate
the project's impact on traffic operations, safety, and livability.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to accept the project or authorize the release of bonds and retention which would
be contrary to the terms of the contract and public contracting code.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A - Location map
Attachment B - History of community engagement
Page 3 of 4
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
54
