ORIGINAL MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT JOHN W. GARDNER CENTER FOR YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY (STANFORD UNIVERSITY) and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY SERVING AS FISCAL AGENT FOR REDWOOD CITY 2020 FY 2019-20 This is B MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT, made and entered in this 9_f day of 2819'by and between JOHN W. GARDNER CENTER FOR YOUTH AND THEIR C MMUNITIES AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY ("STANFORD UNIVERSITY") and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the State of California ("City") serving as fiscal agent for REDWOOD CITY 2020 ("RC 2020"), a COMMUNITY COLLABORATIVE that coordinates the delivery of services to children, youth and families living in the City of Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, an unincorporated area adjacent to Redwood City. WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, in 1995 the City of Redwood City, the Redwood City Elementary School District, the Sequoia Union High School District and the County of San Mateo formed Redwood City 2020 (then known as Redwood City 2000) to provide leadership and oversight necessary to develop a coordinated approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and youth living within the attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable resources to families so they can be successful primary caregivers to their children, and; WHEREAS, each year, since the formation of Redwood City 2020, these original partners (the City, Redwood City School District, Sequoia Union High School District and County of San Mateo) have renewed the Redwood City 2020 partnership by formal agreement, and; WHEREAS, the public partners who formed Redwood City 2020 have now been joined by additional partners (Canada College, John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities at Stanford University (Stanford University), Kaiser Permanente, and Sequoia Healthcare District) and; WHEREAS, all of these Parties desire to renew their Redwood City 2020 membership agreement for Fiscal Year 2019-20. NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: 1. Purpose. The Parties are entering into this formal partnership for the sole purpose of providing assistance to and sustaining the work of Redwood City 2020. Redwood City 2020 exists for two major purposes: a. To provide a forum wherein representatives of partner entities can work together and with members of the private sector, business and the community at large to improve the quality of life in Redwood City for children, youth, and families. b. To provide oversight and support to ongoing collaborative efforts and initiatives that are working toward Redwood City 2020's agreed upon outcomes (e.g., Cradle to Career Pipeline of Success, Community Schools, the Sequoia Teen Resource REV: 11-01-19 RL ATTY/AGR.2019.283/John W.
