DES:djk ~/21/95 (015/41) <br /> <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 8/28/95 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 12596 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST REQUIRES THE <br /> ESTABLISHMENT OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT <br /> ENCOMPASSING THE AREA FROM BROADWAY TO MIDDLEFIELD ROAD <br /> AND JEFFERSON AVENUE TO MAIN STREET; DESIGNATING SAID <br /> DISTRICT AS UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 1995-1; <br /> PROVIDING A DESCRIPTION OF SAID BOUNDARIES; AND STATING <br /> THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO THE <br /> FORMATION OF THE DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article II of Chapter 11, (commencing with §11.30) <br />of the Code of the City of Redwood City provides a procedure for <br />the establishment of underground utility districts within <br />portions of the City of Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Community <br />Development have recommended the establishment of the hereinafter <br />described underground utility district; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has reviewed the recommendation and <br />has determined that the public interest and convenience require <br />the establishment of said underground utility district; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, under California Public <br />Utilities Commission Rule 20-A, qualifies for reimbursement from <br />utility corporations of a portion of the costs incurred by the <br /> <br />City for undergrounding overhead utilities in said district; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. This Council hereby finds and declares that the public <br /> interest and convenience require the establishment of the <br /> hereinafter described underground utility district. <br /> <br /> <br />
