The design includes two bio -retention areas and an infiltration trench that <br />will both capture and treat the storm water for up to a 5 -year storm event. Staff recommends awarding the contract to Grade Tech, Inc. as they are the <br />lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The contract is based on the City's standard form construction <br />agreement with limited revisions. <br />Construction is expected to begin in April 2020 and conclude within 45 calendar days. The contractor will <br />provide additional construction notification to the affected residents. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funding for this project was included in the Capital Improvement Program Budget for Fiscal Year 2019- <br />2020 under the Substandard Street Improvement Program Fund along with a balance $18,465.02 from <br />the Green Infrastructure Pilot Project Fund. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />The project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act <br />(CEQA) Guidelines per Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) because the project would involve minor <br />alterations to existing streets in a manner that does not involve any expansion of use, and 15303 (New <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />18 <br />
