6.H. - Page 1 of 5 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: April 27, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />Public assistance cost recovery reimbursement documentation <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />From the City Manager <br />Adopt a resolution entitled "Designation of Applicant's Agent Resolution for Non -State Agencies" for the <br />purpose of cost recovery eligibility, and authorize staff to take the necessary steps to request public <br />assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency program. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Excellence in Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />In accordance with Section 502 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act <br />(Stafford Act), eligible emergency protective measures taken to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic at the <br />direction of guidance of public health officials may be reimbursed under Category B of the Federal <br />Emergency Management Association's (FEMA) Public Assistance Program. <br />The resolution attached is one of the three documents required to apply for Assistance, and designates <br />the officials who will act on the City's behalf in submitting for reimbursements. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Federal funding is available to State, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit <br />organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency protective measures, including, but not limited to: <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />117 <br />
