The City's HVAC systems have useful
lives of 15 years and receive preventative maintenance on a regular basis.
HVAC systems at the following locations have reached end of useful life: Red Morton Community Center,
Sandpiper Community Center, Fire Station #10, Police Department (Information Technology), Police
Department. While HVAC housing units are still in working condition, analog controls and other peripheral
accessories will be replaced and/or upgraded to existing industry standards. These systems will need to be
replaced as they are no longer economically viable to repair and replacement is deemed imminent.
Replacements and upgrades will improve efficiency (with the availability of remote access) and reduce
greenhouse gas emissions.
The Police Department's boiler is also in need of replacement.
Timeline
Replacements for the most impacted facilities are expected to be completed by the end of FY 2021-22.
Operational Impacts
Reduced maintenance and repair costs.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 198
Previously
FUND Approved
Estimated
Expenditures
thru 6-30-20
FY 2019-20
Carryover
Recom'd
FY 2020-21
Estimated Estimated
FY 2021-22 FY 2022-23
Estimated Estimated
FY 2023-24 FY 2024-25
Estimated
5 -Yr Cost
357 Capital Outlay Fund Ongoing
Ongoing
Ongoing
500,000
280,000 0
0 0
780,000
r___
TOTALS Ongoing
Ongoing
Ongoing
500,000
280,000 0
0 0
780,000
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 198
