6.D. - Page 3 of 5
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for this project was included in the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Capital Improvement Program budget and
includes funding from a One Bay Area Grant Program (OBAG-2) grant. The required local match (11.47%)
is coming from Roadway Maintenance & Rehabilitation Act (SB 1) funds, which were also budgeted in the
Fiscal Year 2017-18 CIP budget.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
As proposed, the project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines pursuant to Section 15301(c), Class 1 ("Existing Facilities") for the repair
and maintenance of existing highways and streets with negligible or no expansion of an existing use. Here,
the proposed improvements will occur to existing streets with no expansion of capacity.
As a federally -funded project, the project is also subject to review underthe National Environmental Policy
Act (NEPA). Caltrans determined that the Project falls within a Categorical Exclusion under 23 CFR Sec.
771.117(d)(13) because the project consists of modernizing a highway by resurfacing, restoration,
rehabilitation or reconstruction.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council may choose not to award the construction contract and direct staff to redesign and/or
rebid this project.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A — Project Location Map
REPORT PREPARED BY:
Sayed Zahori, Assistant Engineer II
szahori@redwoodcity.org
(650) 780-7321
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
M
