PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />A. Building Codes and Water Main Upgrade Ordinances. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Conduct a public hearing and second reading on adoption of the building codes <br />and water main upgrade ordinances. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2324 REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF <br />CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AMENDING <br />ARTICLES II, III, AND IX; AND ADDING ARTICLES IV, VI, VII, AND VIII OF <br />CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO <br />THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS <br />AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY <br />REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING <br />CODE, 2006 EDITION; THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE <br />CODE, 2006 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 2006 EDITION"; <br />"THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2006 EDITION"; "THE INTERNATIONAL <br />CODE COUNCIL ELECTRICAL CODE ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS, 2006 <br />EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 2005 EDITION" (First <br />reading December 17, 2007, summary publication dates January 9 and 29, 2008). <br /> <br />John La Torra, Building & Inspection Manager, explained that items 7.A.1 and 7.A.2 are <br />companion pieces and are being presented together. He stated that these ordinances are <br />being recommended for adoption by the Board of Building Review and the Council Utilities <br />Committee. Mr. La T orra provided details about the publication requirements and he stated <br />that these were met. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust opened the public hearing. There was no public comment. <br /> <br />M/S Ira/Howard to close public hearing.
