EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> ELECTRONIC RESOURCES SUPERVISOR <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To coordinate and serve as primary liaison between the library and city departments or cooperative <br />systems in the planninB and implementation of electronic information services and resources for the <br />library; set direction for digitizing local resources and assume Icad role in oi~anlzmg access to <br />resources by managing World Wide Web pages and using other Interaet information server <br />technologies; provide direct reference service and instruction to users. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Direction ~s provided by the Library Director or Informa~on Services Supervisor. <br />Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of professional, technical and clerical staff. <br />EXAMI'LES OF IMI'ORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTLES <br /> <br />1. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate library electronic information services and resource~ <br /> such as lnternet and CD ROM networks. <br /> <br />2. Prepare user reformation and trainin$ materials. <br /> <br /> Serve as primary liaison to the c~ty's Management Information Services Division in the <br /> development of c~ty information services which are provided electronically; serve as l~aison to <br /> the cooperative l~brary system and other groups. <br /> <br />4. Meet with individuals, community groups and c~ty officials to analyze chan~n~ conunun~ty <br /> needs for l~brary information services; develop services and activities responsive to community <br /> needs. <br /> <br /> $. To provide diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, LAN/WAN telecommunica~ons, <br /> and systems performance issues. <br /> <br /> Select, train, mo~vate, and evaluate personnel; provide or coordinate stafftrah~$~ assi~ and <br /> monitor support tasks. <br /> <br /> 7. Participate in budget preparation and administration; prepare cost estimates for budget <br /> <br /> 8. Provide direct reference assistance to members of the public. <br /> <br /> Select appropriate materials for the c~rculath~ and reference collections; negotiate le~ses and <br /> contracts for electronic products. <br /> <br /> <br />
