8.A. - Page 6 of 28 <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br />May 2020 <br />THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ("MOU") is by and among the City of Redwood <br />City, a Charter City and Municipal Corporation, the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, and <br />the San Mateo County Transit District, each of which are sometimes individually referred to as a <br />"Party" and collectively as the "Parties." <br />This MOU recognizes a number of studies and projects with independent utility that may affect <br />the Redwood City Caltrain Station, Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board owned property, San <br />Mateo County Transit District owned property and adjacent land in the City of Redwood City. This <br />MOU establishes a mechanism to coordinate staff work related to the planning, design, <br />development, operations, scheduling, funding, and other matters affecting the studies and <br />projects described in this MOU, herein referred to as "Activities." The term of this MOU shall <br />commence upon the date written below in section 7 and terminate when all projects described in <br />this MOU are complete. <br />This MOU represents a collaboration between the following organizations, herein referred to as <br />"Parties": <br />City of Redwood City ("City"), <br />II. Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board ("JPB"), and <br />III. San Mateo County Transit District ("District"). <br />The Parties will coordinate the following set of Activities, while providing a singular, focused forum <br />to seek consensus and mutually support the objectives of each Party: <br />Whipple Avenue Grade Separation Study, <br />Il. Redwood City Station Vision and Concept Planning, <br />IV. Redwood City Transit District Planning, <br />V. Dumbarton Rail Corridor Project, and <br />VI. Reimagine SamTrans. <br />As needed, the Parties will invite and/or consult collectively with the San Mateo County <br />Transportation Authority ("SMCTA"), the California High -Speed Rail Authority ("CHSRA"), Cross <br />Bay Transit Partners ("CBTP"), and adjacent communities and other stakeholders. <br />REV: 05-07-2020 PR <br />ATTYIAGR.2020.071/SMCTA and JPB (Page 1 of 23) 169 <br />
