6.G. - Page 1 of 13 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: June 8, 2020 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Resolution calling the November 3, 2020 General Municipal Election to fill four City Council vacancies in <br />Council districts 1, 3, 4, and 7; resolution requesting the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to <br />consolidate said election with the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election and authorize the City <br />Clerk to execute a services agreement with the County to provide election services; resolution adopting <br />regulations for candidates for elective office pertaining to candidate statements submitted to the voters; <br />and, by motion, requiring candidates to pay for the candidate statement costs <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, adopt resolutions related to the General Municipal Election of November 3, 2020 as follows: <br />1. Resolution calling for holding of a General Municipal Election on November 3, 2020 for the election of <br />four municipal officers (City Councilmembers) required by the City's Charter and the laws of the State of <br />California; <br />2. Resolution requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo to consolidate a General <br />Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 with the Presidential General Election; and <br />requesting the County of San Mateo to render specified services to the City and authorizing the City Clerk <br />to execute a contract with the County for such services; <br />3. Resolution adopting regulations for candidates for elective office pertaining to statements submitted <br />to the voters at an election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020; and <br />4.
