Parking policy needs to be adjusted on a regular basis to reflect changes in use and needs <br />of the community. The purpose of this report is to request the expansion of the area defined as Meter <br />Zone A in the Downtown Parking Program in response to community requests. <br />Over the course of the last year, the City of Redwood City has received numerous complaints from <br />businesses on the 1600 block of Broadway and on the 700 block of Maple Street. Concerns included <br />commercial vehicles parking for extended periods, conducting business from the right of way and <br />disrupting area businesses. <br />On September 4, 2019, the City of Redwood City received a petition from business/property owners on <br />the 1600 block of Broadway, asking the City to expand the Downtown Meter Zone to the on -street parking <br />adjacent to their properties.
