<br />Limited Six Year Warranty for Utility Service Bodies
<br />Altec Industries, Inc. provides the following warranties to the original purchaser of an Altec
<br />utility service body:
<br />• Altec warrants that its service bodies will not rust through (develop a hole through the metal
<br />as a result of rust) for a period of six years from date of original purchase, under conditions
<br />of normal use and with regular maintenance. This warranty is void if the service body has
<br />been used to transport corrosive materials.
<br />•
<br />Altec warrants that its service bodies are free of defects in material and workmanship,
<br />under proper use, installation, application and maintenance, for six years from date of
<br />original purchase. This includes the door hinges, door latches, and lock cylinders.
<br />• Altec warrants that the shelving in an Altec service body will not bend under a rated load of
<br />250 pounds.
<br />• Altec warrants all top coat finishes applied by Altec or an authorized Altec representative
<br />for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to any service body
<br />purchased in prime paint. Any lettering or decals required following repair or replacement
<br />will not be covered under this warranty.
<br />• Altec warrants the structural components of the service body for 10 years following the
<br />original purchase. This does not apply if the body has been modified or altered in any way
<br />by anyone other than an approved Altec representative. This warranty does not extend to
<br />any custom equipment or finishes, decals, damages to vehicles or labor in connection with
<br />any of the above.
<br />Altec's obligation under these limited warranties is limited to repair, replacement, or credit, not
<br />to exceed Altec's suggested list price, at the option of Altec. This warranty does not cover
<br />transportation charges, replacement rental charges, misuse, abuse, accidents, alteration or
<br />use in any way not recommended by Altec.
<br />Altec reserves the sole right to inspect any item claimed for warranty and decide the appropri-
<br />ate way to handle any and all claims, including the replacement or repair of the warranted part.
<br />No repair or replacement work commenced without prior written approval of an authorized
<br />Alter representative will be covered by these limited warranties.
<br />Any and all accessory items that are added to the body but not manufactured by Altec, such as
<br />inverters, compressors, liftgates, generators, corner mount cranes, etc. will be covered, if at
<br />all, by the accessory products manufacturer's warranty in effect at the time of delivery and will
<br />not be covered by any warranty extended by Altec.
<br />This limited warranty does not cover: (a) products which have not been operated and main-
<br />tained in accordance with Altec operators and maintenance manuals, programs, and bulle-
<br />tins; (b) products which have not been mounted in accordance with Altec installation proce-
<br />dures; (c) products not manufactured by Altec which are supplied by Altec on special order; (d)
<br />products which are repaired without using original Altec parts; or (e) transportation or delivery
<br />to an Altec service facility or the customer's location.
<br />This limited warranty is expressly in lieu of any other warranties, express or implied, including,
<br />but not limited to, any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Except as
<br />specified above, no associate, agent or representative of Altec is authorized to extend any
<br />warranty on Altec's behalf. Remedies under this limited warranty are expressly limited to the
<br />provision and installation of parts and labor, as specified above, and any claims for other loss
<br />or damages of any type (including, but not limited to, loss from
<br />failure of the product to operate for any period of time, other
<br />economic or moral loss, or direct, immediate, special, indirect,
