Vrortamatt'011 <br />Proclamation Recognizing Long -Serving <br />Historic Resources Advisory Committee Member Ken Rolandelli <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Ken Rolandelli, served as a board member on the Redwood City Heritage <br />Association and was a key advocate for and originator of Redwood City's Historic Preservation <br />Ordinance which was adopted in 1980 and which led to the creation of the Historic Resources <br />Advisory Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Rolandelli was a charter member of the Redwood City's Historic Resources <br />Advisory Committee since he was appointed in October 1980 serving as the Chair from 1986 — <br />2016; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Rolandelli, as a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, <br />recommended numerous designations of historic properties for local Redwood City designation <br />as well the National Register of Historic Places including the creation of three historic districts <br />(Mezesville, Stambaugh -Heller, and Main Street) and as well as an expansion of the Main Street <br />historic district; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Rolandelli, as a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, <br />researched, wrote, and created multiple historic preservation tours including the Redwood City <br />Path of History tour and the annual National Historic Preservation Month downtown tour that <br />has been attended by 7`h grade students in Redwood City for the last 23 years; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Rolandelli, as a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, has <br />attended almost every meeting; reviewed countless projects for compliance with historic <br />preservation standards; provided guidance on Redwood City's historic preservation regulations; <br />helped the City obtain Certified Local Government status with the State Office of Historic <br />Preservation; and has enthusiastically shared his knowledge of historic preservation to all <br />committee members, staff, and residents. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, DL4NE HOWARD, MAYOR OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Redwood City, do hereby <br />honor and commend Ken Rolandelli for his dedication and impact in the Redwood City <br />community. <br />Date: July 27, 2020 <br />Diane Howard, Mayor <br />LOAt'DiShelly Mas , Vice Mayor <br />C- <br />A is ,4 re, C u cd �i? ,her. <br />� uairi une em r <br />Janel Bor ns, Cn cil Member <br />Gisel le, Council Member <br />�a <br />Diann Reddy, Coun& Member <br />
