prodamatt'011 <br />Proclamation Recognizing Long -Serving Library Board Member <br />Reina Barragan <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Reina Barragan, was first appointed to the Redwood City Library Board in May, <br />2005, -and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Barragan subsequently served three more consecutive four year terms; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Barragan, as a member of the Library Board, recommended numerous changes <br />and saw, among other improvements, the expansion of the Children's area and Teen area at the <br />Main Library and the building of the Redwood Shores Library in 2008, the Fair Oaks Library <br />Service Plan, and the Fair Oaks Library renovation and expansion in 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Barragan, as a member of the Library Board for the last 15 years has served as <br />Board President in 2010, and as Board Chair in 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Barragan, as a member of the Library Board, has attended numerous meetings; <br />reviewed countless projects for; provided guidance on Redwood City's Library operations; helped <br />the City obtain multiple recognition awards for library services; and has enthusiastically shared <br />her knowledge and love of the Redwood City Public Library to all committee members, staff, and <br />residents. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, DIANE HOWARD, MAYOR OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Redwood City, do hereby <br />honor and commend Reina Barragan for her dedication and impact in the Redwood City <br />community. <br />Date: July 27, 2020 <br />n Diane Howard Mayor <br />Shelly Masu7, Vice Mayor <br />J c��jP+K44"W, <br />( Janet Bor ns, Co�reil Member <br />-- _n )A2— <br />Gisel le, Council Member <br />TlDiana Reddy, Coun it Member <br />
